April Events and Accomplishments

We had some of the family down for the weekend of the 18th-20th. TJ, Shauna, Kait, Marcus, Abby, Gichin, and Gichin's mom Mary were down. We played some games Friday night when everyone arrived. SAturday Abby and Gichin left to do some sightseeing and Jay and I went to prom that night. Sunday we enjoyed the day before everyone had to leave to go back. I also cut Marcus' hair in his required part for his mission and for him to have some visa pictures taken. He looks pretty nifty with his part huh.

Games on Friday with everyone here.

Abby and Kait playing a duet!

What a handsome missionary and look at him pondering.

Sunday dinner with the family.

Cory's Junior Prom
Cory had a great time for Prom. It was on April 19. The only bad part was the wind was blowing so hard and they had to cancel their plans to go out to the sands hills and make orange rolling trails, but other than that they had a great time. They did a video scavenger hunt and then got ready and had a nice dinner at Josh Keel's house. Cory went with Shantell Lovell and they made a very nice looking couple with perfectly matching dress and vest. Cory and Shantell were on the front row for the promenade dance. After the promenade dance, Cory danced with his Mom. Before Jay and I went home we took lots of nice pictures and here are a few of them. The theme for Prom was Hollywood. The decorations were so fancy and everything looked so nice.

Jamie's graduation from UVSC
Jamie graduated from UVSC on April 25. She was the valedictorian for the college of education and so had the honor of speaking at her convocation. She also sat on the stand and was recognized at the commencement exercises. We were very proud of her and thought her talk was excellent. Congrats Jamie!!! I of course had to get lots of good pictures, Here are just a few of them, some of the graduation, and some afterwards outside the UVSC campus.

After the graduation and lots of pictures, we went to the park for a picnic and to play games. It was great to have all our family there including both sets of Grandparents and Wendy, Shelley Stevens (Shauna's Mom), Mary Barney and Tyler, (Gichin's mom and brother) . They are just like family to us and we were happy to have them there to join in on the fun. Gichin brought his cricket set to the park the kids all had fun playing a game of cricket. We also played some volleyball and had a yummy dinner of barbequed chicken sandwiches, salads, chips, and peanut butter bars. It was a little chilly, but we had some blankets to bundle Grandma and Grandpa Burnham up in, and not to bad for the rest of us.
