UVU Graduate!!

Congratulations to Derek Finlinson on graduating from UVU last Friday. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. He is now looking for a job, and at some point may get his masters degree, but also needs to get some work experience in his area. We are proud of him and also of Jaclyn for her efforts in working full time to help him get through school.

Afterward, we went to the park to eat some yummy roast beef sandwiches and celebrate with the rest of Jaclyn's family.


It was a little chilly and rainy, but not enough to keep everyone from and game of soccer, and a little fun on the playground for the kids.

On Saturday we went up to Lagoon to watch Brooke compete in a clogging competition. Her team took 1st place in their bucket dance, and 2nd place in this dance.


Jamie and her friend Brendan also came and watched. It was a little rainy, and the dance wasn't until 2:30, so we didn't go on any rides, but it was a fun day.



They had some very pretty tulips in bloom, and with the cloudy skies, I couldn't resist a picture or two!


We have some very cute kittens that are about a month old, and we finally brought them close to the house and once in a while we bring them in to play with. Aren't they adorable?

Our crab apple tree is in full bloom and so pretty this year. We even have lilacs blooming this year. Usually they freeze because it gets warm to bring out the blossoms early and then it freezes, but this year is has been so cold that everything is late blooming.

Other happenings!

The weekend of the 24th and 25th were very very busy. First, on Friday, Cory had a soccer game at North Sanpete in Mt. Pleasant, then after that Brooke had her basketball tournament in Richfield starting at 7:00 Friday night. She played two games after which Jay and I came home, leaving Brooke and Dani at Furb and Elizabeth's house to spend the night. The next morning, I took Cory to American Fork for state solo and ensemble where he performed and receive a I on his piano solo. AFterward that we rushed to Orem High school where he ran in the 300 hurdles hoping to qualify. It was rainy and miserable, and again he just missed getting the time, but was in the top ten. In the meantime, Jay had gone back over to Richfield to watch Brooke play. After the track meet, I took Cory back to Lone Peak high school to ride the bus home with the other Delta music students so he could get home in time for preference. I headed back to Richfield to watch Brooke play. Her team ended up taking 3rd place and played some really tough teams. Brooke dominated the boards, getting lots of rebounds! We left for home after the tournament and arrived around 9:30. What a weekend it was!

Cory is all done with soccer now. It was a great season, not completely turning out like we would like it, but there were a lot of great games, and great plays and it was an awesome year. These are pictures of the Carbon (5-1 win) and North Sanpete (6-0 win) games. Delta played in the first round of the playoffs against Wasatch, a team we had previously beaten, and lost in the 2nd overtime 2-1. It was a heartbreaking loss but still a great season.

On the 29th of April, Brooke and Dani had their clogging review and it was fun to watch and they did awesome. It is so fun to clog and especially for Brooke since Ally and Rachel are in her clogging group.

This is a picture of our Camry shortly after it was ran into by a truck as Jay was taking the girls to school and going to work. It is so sad to not have this car. Thankfully, Brooke and Dani were in the back seat and no one was hurt, just frightened. The best news, and really a miracle, is that the driver of the truck had no insurance, and we thought we would have a fight on our hands to get what was fair from our insurance company. But we got work today that they are paying out the full amount of what is allowed on our insurance for coverage on accidents caused by non insured drivers!
