Delta City had a big celebration for it's centennial on April 12 in the palladium. All the Elenmentary students participated so Dani was in the chorus of kids. Marcus and Cory also danced in 2 separate couples dances. Marcus did a 20's dance and Cory did a swing from the 50's. It was a very nice program.Delta had another very exciting soccer game this time at Juan Diego and everyone came to watch. It was definitely worth it as Delta again beat them 2-1 on their home field. It was such an exciting game that I was not allowed to hold Kait!
More soccer excitement!
This post is to let you know about all the excitement around here. Marcus and Cory are celebrating their big playoff soccer game win today against Ben Lomond. We started out the game with a goal in the first minute of play and then got another one around the 20th minute. The wind was blowing hard from the south west and we were playing with the wind the first half. But just at the end of the half Ben Lomond scored a goal so it was 2-1 at half. The wind seemed to pick up the second half and Ben Lomond got another goal about 15 minutes into the half, but then we went on a scoring frenzy and scored 4 goals to make it 6-2. Finally I could relax!! The bench went in for the last 2-3 minutes and then on the last play of the game, Ben Lomond scored a 3rd goal off a free kick to make it 6-3. We will be playing Dixie on Sat, not sure the time, maybe around 12:00, if anyone is interested in coming down to the game.
This week is also Sadie's and we have had a lot of excitement with Marcus and Cory getting chased all over the place. Tonight was especially exciting for Cory would was chased in his car, down dirt farm roads, then running through fields, hiding out in tractor sheds, and all sort of adventures. They have planned and strategied all week and it has been so much fun. They still haven't been caught. We have decided that girls are really not very smart when it comes to chasing. This morning we had 4 girls outside helping to catch Cory and they ALL hung out by the front door, so he went out the back door and Marcus picked him up on the road behind us, then drove by the house and waved to the girls. The picture above is Marcus hiding behind the wall waiting til Jessica came around the corned to start running.
It was sure a fun time celebrating Grandpa's birthday. You four handsome young men sure sang well. I didn't think you could pull it off acapella but you did! Way to go. Here are some more pictures of the dance and celebration. Here is a picture of Grandpa with his brothers and sisters. Garth, Paul, Grandpa, Georgia, and Norine. Raymond couldn't come because of his health.
Cory at the Energy Solutions scholarship banquet on April 27th. Cory received a $1000 scholarship from Energy Solutions and then was honored at this banquet. It was the same day as Gichin's graduation and so I went to the graduation and Cory and Pop went to the banquet. Gichin's graduations was very nice. I didn't have by camera and so can't post any pictures, but Abby has some on her blog and I think will get me some later. Way to go Gichin we are proud of you!
Dani and I were home alone on Sat, April 28th because Brooke was mowing lawns with Jamie since Marcus and Cory were at State Solo and Ensemble. So we had a makeover party. I did Dani, she did me and we both did Sammy! Aren't we beautiful?
Marcus and the girls enjoying the warm weather outside on the swing set.
It is getting really warm and the asparagus is growing like crazy. Brooke has helped me pick some and we have had it for dinner three times now, it is so yummy!
